S.O.S Services:
Scheduled Oil Sampling (S.O.S) Services provide the best insight into internal final drive wear and potential failure.
Service Meter Hours:
Our dealers use service meter hours as a repair indicator.
Operator Discussion:
Talking with your machine's operator can reveal many potential final drive problems.
Problem Indicators, Possible Causes, and Options
Brake Slippage:
Caused by worn plates and discs, wrong oil used, linkage out of adjustment, incorrect pressure settings, and/or low fluid level. Options include: Technical Analysis Inspection, Repair Determination Inspection, and/or Customer/Dealer Discussion.
Unusual Noises:
Caused by worn gears/bearings, dirt entry, and/or flow fluid level. Options include: Technical Analysis Inspection, Repair Determination Inspection, and/or Customer/Dealer Discussion.
Overheating:
Caused by wrong oil used, low fluid level, and/or worn or damaged seals. Options include: Technical Analysis Inspection, Repair Determination Inspection, S.O.S Services, and/or Customer/Dealer discussion.
Debris on Magnetic Plug:
Caused by dirt entry, wrong oil used, extended oil change period, disc disintegration, worn gears or bearings. Options include: S.O.S Services, Customer/Dealer Discussion.
Vibration:
Caused by gear failure, sprocket failure, and/or bearing failure. Options include technical analysis inspection, repair determination inspection, S.O.S Services, and/or customer/dealer discussion.
Leaks:
Caused by worn, hard, or cracked seals. Options include repair determination inspection, and or customer/dealer discussion.
